The one question I consistently get from athletes is if they should incorporate strength training in to their workouts. The answer is emphatic yes! The primary benefit of strength training is injury prevention; so even if you are short on time, strengthening three areas will keep you healthy for the entire season. Training for triathlon is a far more balanced, whole-body approach toward fitness than training for a single-sport event. However, even triathlon leaves us with some neglected, fragile areas.
