Craig Alexander’s Bikes Stolen From Home In Australia

Two-time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander has had his road bike and triathlon bike stolen from his home in a suburb of Sydney, Australia.

According to reports several homes in the area were burglarized at the same time. The two bikes stolen from the Alexander residence are worth approximately $25,000 and are unique.
Alexander released the following statement:
“I’ve invested a lot of time and effort in training for an upcoming overseas event in three weeks’ time and the theft of my competition bikes is a major setback,” the athlete said in a statement.
Alexander is set to head to Singapore to defend his Ironman 70.3 Singapore title on March 21, 2010.
Alexander’s race bike is vary rare. Below is a description of the bike from Alexander:
Black 51 cm ORBEA ORDU Bike: This bike is very unique as there are only a handful of bikes in Australia that have the Shimano Di2 electronic group sets on it. It also has a Shimano Protype SRM power meter installed on the bike. This is distinctive by looking at the crank drive arm. This is the only one in Australia and there are only a handful of the world.
