Chrissie Wellington Honored With MBE

Three-time Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington has been honored with an MBE on the Queen’s Birthday 2010 Honours List.
Wellington said she was “delighted”.
She said: “I was absolutely overwhelmed to receive the letter. The official notification arrived at my parents’ home in Downham Market. My mum said, ‘Chrissie, are you sittting down.’ I fell over and started crying, my mum was the same on the other end of the phone. It’s such a big honour for me and for the sport of triathlon.”
