Members of the triathlon industry have come together to form a new business organization, Triathlon America. The group will hold its conference in late February in La Jolla, Calif. The conference will feature speakers and networking opportunities, as well as a new awards banquet.

A coalition of triathlon business leaders announce today the creation of Triathlon America, an organization to promote the interests of the triathlon business community. The membership organization will advocate for the interests of triathlon businesses, provide educational and informative programs, and encourage increased participation in the sport.
“Triathlon America has been formed to leverage the knowledge, talent and resources of the leaders in the sport of triathlon. Building a stronger community and advocating a positive image for the sport will be a large part of our vision for the future”, said Jack Caress, President of Triathlon America.
Triathlon America’s first initiative is an annual conference for industry leaders. The first Triathlon America Conference will be held on February 27-March 1, 2011 at the Estancia Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, CA. The conference will feature outstanding speakers, informative breakout sessions and networking opportunities.
Highlighting the conference will be the Triathlon America Awards, a banquet program to recognize prominent achievements in triathlon including top athletes, new products, event innovations, and extraordinary writing and photography .
The Triathlon America board of directors will have representatives of the founding members, including Pacific Sports LLC, Washington Sports and Event Management, The Active Network, Tri -California Events, Competitor Group, TYR Sport, Dan Empfield, Revolution3, Orbea USA, Champion System, IMG, VO2 Partners, Mike Reilly, Sports Multiplied LLC, Ironman and Life Time Fitness.
