Both Belgium’s Frederik Van Lierde and Great Britain’s Jodie Swallow took the leads early on in Buffalo City to claim the Ironman 70.3 South Africa titles on Sunday afternoon.

Van Lierde combined a 25-minute swim, a 2:18:18 bike and a 1:19:21 half marathon to take the 4:06:30 victory.
