Atlanta-based all3sports, Inc. has signed Matt “Boom Boom” Reed.
The company’s highly successful online branch, all3sports.com, will serve as Reed’s Official Triathlon and Bicycle Retailer.
“Matt is immensely talented, having shown his mettle across every distance in the sport,” said Morgan Clark, Owner and President of all3sports, Inc. “Both on and off the course, he exhibits a powerful work ethic, strong family values and a great sense of humor – all of which are core to our company culture,” she continued. “Additionally, several of Matt’s product sponsors – including Zipp, CEP, Shimano and Fizik – are vital to our retail mix, and we plan to work on a number of joint promotions. We’re excited to have Matt and all of Team Reed join our extended family.”
A native of New Zealand, Reed earned his U.S. citizenship in 2007. He took top honors at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and went on to represent his adopted country in the Beijing Olympic Games. While continuing to top Olympic distance triathlon podiums across the globe, Reed has since expanded his competitive focus to longer distance events. He has garnered great success on the half-iron distance circuit and placed 6th overall in his full Ironman debut in 2010’s Ironman Arizona.
“I’m thrilled about this new partnership,” asserted Reed. “It’s obvious that Morgan and the team at all3sports have a solid commitment to the growth of our sport, and I’m proud to be a part of their vision. I am hitting the prime of my career, and with several good years left in these legs, I have key goals to achieve and am excited to partner with all3sports to achieve them. I like to be able to work with companies that reach a variety of athletes in our sport – from location of athletes to a variety of abilities of athletes – and all3sports does just that.”
Reed will kick off the 2011 triathlon season racing in February’s inaugural Rev3 Costa Rica. A full and varied schedule follows, with an emphasis on the newly launched Ironman 5150 series, key Lifetime Fitness events, and numerous Rev3 and Ironman 70.3 races. Reed also aims to compete in the Ironman World Championships in Kona and repeat his appearance at Ironman Arizona. Reed will also join fellow all3sports.com athlete and reigning Ironman World Champion Mirinda Carfrae on January 22, 2011 at the Endurance LIVE event in San Diego, CA. The pair will participate in a variety of group bike rides and Q&A sessions, as well as the evening’s Awards Gala.
In addition to his dedication as a diverse and vastly talented triathlete, Reed is equally intent on his role as a father and husband. Reed and his wife Kelly, herself a former professional triathlete, are proud parents to son Lachlan James, age 5, daughter Peyton Grace, age 2, and newborn daughter Kingston Marie. Two spirited Weimeraners, Storm and Ashton, round out Team Reed.
