7 Supplements That Aren’t A Total Waste of Money

When the average runner thinks of sports nutrition, he usually thinks about supplements, sports drinks, bars, gels, and so forth. That’s unfortunate, because real food is what matters most for runners. A balanced diet of natural foods, mainly fruits and vegetables, is the one thing every runner needs nutritionally to establish a foundation for health and performance. The other stuff is only good for supplementing that foundation.

There are many successful runners who don’t use any supplements. There aren’t any successful runners who owe their success to supplements. But a select few supplements can be helpful to runners. The following seven are worth considering as tools to round out your balanced diet of natural foods.
