Kiwis dominate at the inaugural 70.3 Ironman Korea on Jeju island.

Cameron Brown triumphed over a tough course to lead home a New Zealand trifecta in the inaugural 70.3 Ironman Korea on Jeju island on Sunday.

Underlining the New Zealand dominance, Jo Lawn took out the women’s race by a huge margin from Japan’s Yasuko Miyaki.

Brown’s winning four hours, three minutes and 58 seconds win was more than 11 minutes ahead of second-placed Guy Crawford.

Brown said conditions were excellent, although the half-ironman course was “super tough”.

Lawn took out her third straight half ironman after wins at Port Macquarie and Busselton recently.

She was never threatened today: the six-time Ironman New Zealand champion was fifth out of the water overall behind the three New Zealand men and Sweden’s Fredrik Croneborg, who won Ironman 70.3 China recently.
