Participant Dies At Ironman Louisville

One of the competitors in Sunday’s Ironman Louisville died during the competition.
Ironman officials said the athlete experienced cardiac arrest during the swim portion of the event and was taken to University of Louisville Hospital.
The coroner identified the victim as 46-year-old Mark Wezca, of Lancaster, N.Y.
Deputy coroner Joanne Farmer said Wezca was pulled from the river just after he started the swimming portion.
