Leon’s Triathlon in Hammond, Ind., (only 40 minutes south of Chicago) is flat and fast and offers triathletes a welcoming atmosphere, a 40K bike course almost entirely closed to traffic, and a hug from race director Leon Wolek once it’s all over. Leonstriathlon.com
Nation’s Triathlon
Washington, D.C., Sept. 9
