In his announcement yesterday that he would no longer fight charges from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, Lance Armstrong vowed to attempt to “to be the fittest 40-year old on the planet.”

He’s wasting no time in showcasing his fitness. According to a tweet, tomorrow Saturday Aug. 25, Armstrong will participate in the Power of Four Mountain bike race.

“Excited to be racing the #poweroffour tomorrow here in @AspenCO. 9000 vert in just 36 miles! http://tinyurl.com/8tt786z

The event “combines the four ski areas of Aspen/Snowmass (Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain) into one amazing mountain bike race,” according to the event website.

Armstrong’s weekend won’t end there. He says the next day he’ll compete in the Aspen Back Country Marathon.

“Then for the heck of it, here’s what Sunday looks like. http://www.aspenbackcountrymarathon.com,” Armstrong tweeted.

Race organizers call the race “the most challenging marathon you’ll ever run.” The 26.2-mile trail marathon climbs to over 10,000 feet of elevation and ends in Aspen, Colo.

Armstrong raced in and won the Steamboat Stinger Marathon in Steamboat Springs, Colo. two weeks ago in a time of 3:18:10.
