Raphael, Lundström Take Ironman Sweden

Germany’s Jan Raphael and Sweden’s Åsa Lundström earned the victories at today’s Ironman Sweden in Kalmar by outrunning the competition.

Rapheal combined a 48:32 swim, 4:26:33 bike and a 2:45:44 marathon to take the 8:04:01 win. Fellow Germans Dorian Wagner and Horst Reichel rounded out the podium.

Lundström’s 1:00:17 swim, 4:51:46 bike and 3:18:20 run gave her the women’s title in a total time of 9:13:27. Germany’s Dana Wagner finished second, with Japan’s Emi Sakai taking the third position.
