Life Time Fitness today, Jan. 30, announced the 2013 Life Time Tri pro series schedule. The series will replace the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup.

The series includes many of the same races as the 2012 schedule. Action will kick off in Miami with the Nautica South Beach Triathlon on April 7. The next three locations of Austin (May 27), Minneapolis (July 13) and Chicago (Aug. 25) are also staples. Next up will be a race in Tempe, Ariz. on Sept. 22, which is a new city for the series. The former championship race, Life Time Tri Dallas will take place on Oct. 6 before the new championship race at the recently announced Life Time Tri Oceanside on Oct. 20.

The total 2013 Life Time Tri pro series cash purse will include $250,000 in individual race awards throughout the series. The top finishers of the Life Time Tri Series, to be determined at Life Time Tri Oceanside, will win part of an additional $200,000 cash prize. To qualify for the championship prize, pros must start at least three events, including Life Time Tri Oceanside with the top five events counting toward their overall standings. The official finishing times at Life Time Tri Oceanside will serve as a tiebreaker.
