Docherty is aiming to race at this year's Kona race, saying at the end of last year: “I had a few doubts there, mostly with the heat and that side of things, but talking with Crowie and a few of the boys, they’ve given me a good idea of what to expect in Kona. So it’s exciting to perform on a course like that. I’ve still got a lot to learn about the distance but I’m excited.”
