Canadian Angela Naeth has confirmed that she will compete in June 23’s Olympic-distance TriRock Philadelphia Triathlon, with title sponsor Johnson & Johnson and presenting sponsor Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY).
Naeth is fresh off of a June 9 win against a tough field at Ironman 70.3 Eagleman. The super cyclist had previously finished third in the Olympic-distance Columbia Triathlon in May. Naeth will face off against another fast cyclist, Alicia Kaye (USA). Other top names on the women’s start list are Rebeccah Wassner (USA), Laurel Wassner (USA) and Sara McLarty (USA).
They will be competing as part of the newly announced PHLY Cup. The PHLY Cup will evenly split a prize purse totaling $25,000 between the top male and female finishers at Sunday’s race.
The 9th annual event features three days of activities including an expo on Friday, a sprint-distance event on Saturday and the Olympic-distance race on Sunday. Registration closes this Sunday, June 17. Learn more about the race at Trirock.competitor.com/Philadelphia. TriRock Philadelphia is owned by Triathlete.com’s parent company, Competitor Group, Inc.
