Before I was a professional triathlete, I was …. a college student.
Describe your introduction to triathlon: I went on a bike tour with my parents and fell in love with riding up big mountain passes. I had a background in running, now loved riding, all I had to do was learn how to swim!
Who has influenced your triathlon career the most/and how? My husband, Chris and my parents. My parents raised my sister and I to be hard workers in all that we do. Chris encourages me to never give up, always believe in myself, and to be relentless.
Which event do you most look forward to each year and why? Ironman Hawaii - it is the ultimate physical and mental test in the sport. I can't figure it out - and that drives me nuts.
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as a triathlete? Winning Ironman CDA was awesome. Consistently running several 3'04 IM marathons. My performance at the 2011 70.3 Worlds was a great day, too!
Training partners? Team Montana! Meredith Kessler. Purplepatch. Any athlete snowbirding in Tucson, AZ. My CycleOps PowerBeam Pro + Joule.
